The Kodama has a very large surface area over its one hundred and fifty-six centimeters,
and if you translate its name from Japanese, you quickly find out what type of rider it was built for: “The spirit that lives in the forest”.
With most of the surface area towards the nose, it floats like a cork, while a stub tail allows for quick turns when surfing through the forest. The all-black base makes core-shot operation even easier. Transitions are now even faster:
new for all of our splitboards in 23-24 are holes at the tip and tail to make attaching the skins easier. Self-driving low-vis storm chasers are now even more fun.
- Directional Cruise Camber
Early Rise Rocker for all-mountain domination. The softened dimensions of Cruise Camber make for a precise and lively ride, with significantly improved deep snow performance .
On Amplid's directional snowboards, a touch of Early Rise is added to Cruise Camber to further enhance float. - All-Terrain Tips
A gentle kick radius and fuller tip outline improve flotation in deep snow without adding swing weight. - CORE
Omni Core
A reliable low-density poplar wood core that is lightweight and durable with excellent flex memory. - Basalt Suspension Strips
Narrow strips of basalt weave run along the topsheet in a V-shape from the contact points to the boots for improved control.
They dampen unwanted vibrations and ensure that the edge stays in contact with the snow. - Biaxal Glass
The use of biaxial glass in the construction of our shreds gives a mix of response and playfulness, while remaining very light.
TOPSHEET - Amplid hooks
Forged aluminum board hooks, developed in-house by Amplid's R&D team, provide a reliable,
light connection between the board halves and have a smooth matt black aesthetic. - Impact Pads
We have added multi-directional glass pads at the binding area to prevent dents
caused by the sharp corners of metal splitboard binding bases.
These pads increase durability without adding unwanted weight. - Bolted Tip Clips
Using threaded bolts instead of rivets makes replacing broken tip clips on the slopes easy,
without the need for a garage full of tools.
BASE - Extruded 4 Base
If we didn't tell you, you'd think this base was sintered.
Amplid's amazing extruded base material offers excellent gliding properties and rarely needs waxing.
SIDEWALL - Split Tune
Amplid rounds off the edges slightly at the tip and tail, outside the effective edge.
Blunting these edges reduces chipping of the topsheet when touring.
