The Freequencer was modeled after the infamous Milligram Split to appeal to a wider range of shredders. Although more affordable than the Milli, no sacrifices have been made: it's lightweight but can take a beating and keeps going, so you can count on it to take you far from the crowd to pow. The Freequencer is a versatile shape that adapts perfectly to your riding, whether you're blower or crud.
By the way, this split deck also comes complete with Amplid's proprietary split hardware.

Omni Core
A dependable, low density Poplar wood core which is lightweight, durable and has great flex memory. The industry
standard for great performance.
All-Terrain Tips
A smooth kick radius and fuller tip outline improves deep snow floatation without adding swing weight.
Biax Glass
Using Biaxial Glass in the construction of our shreds gives them a flawless blend of response and playfulness whilst keeping them ridiculously
lightweight.
Pre-Cured Impact Pads
On the Milligram we have added multidirectional glass pads in the binding area, to avoid dings caused by the pointy corners of metal splitboard binding bases. These pads enhance durability while only adding minimal weight.
Split Tune
We lightly round the edges at the tip and tail, outside of the effective edge. Blunting these edges reduces chipping to the topsheet during skinning.
Extruded 4 Base
If we didn’t tell you, you’d think this base was sintered. Amplid’s mind-boggling extruded base material offers next level glide properties and rarely needs waxing.

Conclusion: a good all-rounder for powder and piste
The Amplid Freequencer is a splitboard designed for both beginners and experienced tourers who don't want to compromise on performance. Amplid has created a board that not only excels in powder, but also offers good control on hard surfaces and demanding ascents.
Ascent: Easy and efficient
With a medium/stiffer flex and precise camber profile underfoot, the Freequencer offers great stability and grip on ascents. Combined with AmplidxKohla skins, you will notice how efficiently the board climbs on hard-packed slopes and steep hills. The stiff edge also ensures a secure feeling when traversing.
Expert tip: The torsional flex of the board is particularly helpful on steeper sections where you need precise power transmission to the edge. The board remains stable and lets you confidently navigate technical sections.
Downhill: Surfing in powder
Where the Freequencer really shines is on descents in deep snow. Thanks to the early-rise nose and setback, it glides effortlessly through powder and gives you a surfing feeling. The float properties of the shovel are particularly good – you'll always stay on top, even in deeper powder. The medium to stiff flex provides enough power to maintain control even at higher speeds.
On the slopes, the board proves to be a real all-rounder. The camber under the feet provides great edge hold, so that even hard-pressed slopes are no problem. In tighter turns, it remains playful and easy to maneuver.
Freestyle: A little fun is a must
Although the Freequencer is designed more for freeriding, the medium flex also allows the odd freestyle move. You can easily jump over natural kickers with it, without the board feeling too stiff or heavy. It's not a pure freestyle machine, but for the spontaneous trick here and there, it is quite sufficient.
Workmanship & Weight
Amplid is known for its high-quality workmanship, and the Freequencer is no exception. The weight of the board is normal compared to other splitboards, which makes it a pleasant companion, especially on longer tours. In addition, the robust material ensures a high durability, even with intensive use off-piste.
Competition: comparison to Milligram
Compared to Amplid's high-end splitboard, the Milligram, the Freequencer is a bit heavier, but offers a more stable feeling on the descent. So if you are looking for an affordable but high-performance splitboard that performs well in difficult conditions, this is the right choice.
Conclusion: Who is the Freequencer suitable for?
The Amplid Freequencer is an ideal board for all-mountain riders looking for a splitboard that works well in deep snow as well as on the slopes. It's light enough for long tours and offers the stability and lift you want in a good freeride board on the descent.
So if you are looking for a splitboard that is versatile and fun to ride, both up and downhill, check out the Amplid Freequencer.
