1313,00: -20% Splitboard Set
With the Milligram, Amplid has succeeded in creating a true game changer. Not only has it been proven that the weight of a splitboard can be dramatically reduced, but that this does not have to be at the expense of board feel, versatility and durability.
Whether you're out all day for a tour or heading out for a short, after-work expedition in the evening complete with headlamp, the huge weight savings are always a clear advantage. This experience is only surpassed when you set out on the descent: with lots of flow, responsiveness and light as a feather, you quickly forget that you are just on a splitboard.
Underneath the pared-down but appealing carbon look is Amplid's secret BBP Core, a puzzle of ultra-light woods that reduce weight and tame the somewhat nervous character of carbon. Nano-coating and impact pads are purposefully positioned technologies that serve the board's longevity without adding to the overall weight.
Amplid's new super lightweight and adjustable board hooks add the necessary stability. This hardware is not visible on the base of the splitboard.

Leicht, leichter, Milligram

Milligram
BBP Core
The lightest wood core money can buy. Weightless Paulownia and Balsa are carefully arranged with stronger Birch to save valuable grams without sacrificing strength.
Impact Pads
On the Milligram we have added multidirectional glass pads in the binding area, to avoid dings caused by the pointy corners of metal splitboard binding bases. These pads enhance durability while only adding minimal weight.
Full Carbon Jacket
Amplid’s Full Carbon Jacket is the most expensive fiber laminate in Amplid’s arsenal. Carbon’s tensile strength to weight ratio is unbeatable, it allows the use of thinner, almost weightless laminates to achieve the same flex profile. Its responsive and energized feel is unique.
Floatation Tips
Ultra wide, low rising tips that exist purely to create lift in powder without sucking-up speed. They add a surfy feel to skis and snowboards.
Topless Tanga Technology
A partial, hardwearing topsheet material deliberately used in areas where chipping might otherwise occur. This minimalist approach reduces weight for touring.
Sintered 7HD Base
A premium sintered plastic which readily absorbs wax and will out-run your riding buddies’ bases without breaking a sweat. You better get used to waiting.
Split Tune
We lightly round the edges at the tip and tail, outside of the effective edge. Blunting these edges reduces chipping to the topsheet during skinning.
Bolted Tip Clips
Using threaded bolts instead of rivets allows broken tip clips to be easily replaced, on the hill, without the need for a workshop full of tools.
Powder Pontoon
Spanning a snow hole with one split ski at full stride can snap it clean in two. Extra unidirectional carbon stringers along the underside of the core increases bending stiffness, reducing “dishing” in deep snow and increasing breaking resistance.
Amplid Hooks
Screwd Amplid Clips
FREEQUENCER
Omni Core
A dependable, low density Poplar wood core which is lightweight, durable and has great flex memory. The industry
standard for great performance.
All-Terrain Tips
A smooth kick radius and fuller tip outline improves deep snow floatation without adding swing weight.
Biax Glass
Using Biaxial Glass in the construction of our shreds gives them a flawless blend of response and playfulness whilst keeping them ridiculously
lightweight.
Pre-Cured Impact Pads
On the Milligram we have added multidirectional glass pads in the binding area, to avoid dings caused by the pointy corners of metal splitboard binding bases. These pads enhance durability while only adding minimal weight.
Split Tune
We lightly round the edges at the tip and tail, outside of the effective edge. Blunting these edges reduces chipping to the topsheet during skinning.
Extruded 4 Base
If we didn’t tell you, you’d think this base was sintered. Amplid’s mind-boggling extruded base material offers next level glide properties and rarely needs waxing.

Scratch Resistent Top Sheet
Peter Bauer had already contacted me before the first ISPO presentation of the Milligram, which was in January 2013, when the milligram was only available in short lengths and I was very sceptical about its durability. We have a lot of experience with PRIOR in the field of lightweight construction and under no circumstances do we want to reduce weight at the expense of durability or driving pleasure. It should therefore be a few more years before the product range and the reliability/stability of the Milligram met our requirements. In winter 17/18 the time had come. The milligram is available in 158 - 168 and has a weight of approx. 2.5kg with a length of 163. That is 15.3 grams per model/shape centimeter. For comparison, a Prior XTC BC 165 has 17 grams per model centimeter.
Durability:
So I have tested a 163 milligram almost a whole season - that corresponds to about 5-10 seasons of a standard tourer. I can recommend it without restrictions in terms of durability. Maybe some critical customers would criticize one or the other. For example, the cover sheet took place in some areas. But only in heavily used. So I think it's acceptable and a natural wear and tear.
Driving feeling:
That was the most difficult point. We had the 163 Milligram Tester with us e.g. at our Splitboard Festival CTM. The best opportunity to test shapes in direct comparison. Here the team's opinion was not unanimous. In order for us to include a new shape in our range, it must have an average grade of 2(good). There are: 1(gigantic), 2(good) or 3(not my stuff). With intermediate grades, of course, just like in the school system. Unfortunately, the milligram did not manage the smooth 2 at the first attempt. But I didn't give up. After various binding adjustment attempts, I came up with a variant in which it was enough for me to have a 1-2. Also our Matthias, gave the Milligram towards the end of the season a 1-2th entrance test driving feeling: Passed
Ascent / edge hold:
which is an All-Mountain Shape, with a moderate radius the edge hold is correspondingly good.
Price/Performance:
The demands on a 1,200 EUR split board are simply very high. If you want the lightest material on the market, the milligram is the best choice and the high price is justified, as currently no other manufacturer can produce this shape weight. (15.3 grams per model/shape centimeter) Even if it is only a few grams in total.
Conclusion:
Peter Bauer has a great splitboard at the start with the Milligram and I am happy that we have had it in our assortment since 18/19! In combination with an ARC PRO you get the extremely light value of approx. 2 KG per foot! This is truly the lightest SET UP ever produced in series. I will test this complete SET UP in 18/19 for durability.
UPDATE 19/20:
a season milligram with the ARC PRO was a successful test. Everything has kept no breaks or problems.
So good that we now have 2 more shapes from Amplid in our program.
UPDATE 21/22:
also the Milligram is now available as a cheaper version without lightweight construction and adapted equipment. Milligram Felling at a fair price!
