The question about the airbag!
Since the 1990s, I have only gone on a ski tour with an airbag backpack. At that time, you really had to want to do it with such a heavy backpack. I personally It weighed 8 kg empty!
A lot has happened since then. Weight and technology have progressed. For about 5 years I have been going on ski tours with an ARVA and I am very enthusiastic about it.
- It is super
- A great backpack with great technical solutions, made by mountaineers for mountaineers.
- Very reliable in use.
- Made in France!
No charging of batteries – always works!
If an ABS is an ARVA, then that is my opinion and I will only go up the mountain with an airbag backpack for the next 20 years.
But I can completely understand why someone might shy away from today's extra weight of Having an airbag with you is an OPTION. But having an avalanche transceiver and knowing how to use it 100% is a MUST.
