Measuring feet:

Place a sheet of A4 paper flush against a wall or door
Make light contact with the wall or door with your heel
Draw around the foot / mark the longest point
Measured length = MONDO length + extra room for inner shoe

Photon liner surcharge: 10 mm to 15 mm

In a NEW splitboard boot, your feet fit snugly without causing pain.
The boot is allowed to fit snugly around your feet and toes with the liner and touch it.
With every tour it gets bigger, due to the INLINER material and abrasion.

BOA mit Step ON Boot

Ich gebe es zu, ich bin kein Freund von doppeltem BOA, also wenn der ganze Boot mit BOA geschnürt wird. Aber ich habe gelernt, das viele meiner Kunden und Teilnehmer der Camps das sehr schätzen. Der Photon ist ein topp Boot an sich und das Step ON funktioniert generell gut. Mit was das System etwas zu soft, aber das lag wohl an der Einstellung. Man kann es als 100% mit herkömlichen Boot/Bindung vergleichen. Wenn der Boot passt - das ist ja immer die spannende Frage. Hier eine kleiner Eindruck von dem ersten TEST mit der Step ON

Generell ist Step ON ja bereits der 3. oder wenn man alle Hersteller nimmt sogar minimum der 4. Anlauf den Einstieg in die Softbootbindung zu erleichtern.
Im Skigebiet ist das auch ganz klar ein Vorteil. Raus aus dem Sessellift und klack, geht es weiter.
Aber auch Skitour ?
Genau, da steige ich 1x am Parkplatz ein und dann 1 evtl. 2 mal während der Tour. Und hier ist auch die generelle Schwäche des Systems.
Im Skigebiet, wenn das Splitboard bzw. Snowboard auf einer ebenen Piste satt aufliegt, dann ist das easy. Aber am Gipfel wo ich oft wenig Platz habe und das Gelände steil abfällt, da steige ich eh besser im Sitzen ein. Dann ist das mit Step ON etwas fummelig und gerade am Anfnag wenn man ungeübt ist durschaus "spannend" :-) .

Fazit:
Wer bereits einen Step ON Boot hat und sich nun einen 2. Boot kaufen müsste zum Tourengehen bzw. Splitboarden
oder
wer sich für die Piste eh einen Step ON zulegen will, für den ist das alles OK .

Aber wer 90% der Saison auf Skitour ist, der nimmt sich besser eine herkömliche Bindung mit Boot.
